The Quran explains

‘If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.’(Al Isrâ’ Surah 17)

The Sura is a beautiful piece of writing(even the English translation) and provides guidance on many aspects of life.

Although the Muslims believe in the absolute accuracy of the Quran and therefore the Sura under discussion, there are many non-Muslim analysts who point out certain inaccuracies and contradictions in the Quran. For example although unable to identify any such error in this Sura, instances have been identified when the Quran is in contradiction to the Quran. Another issue that arises in the study of the Quran is its interpretation. While many modern Muslims believe that the interpretation and understanding of the Quran should change with passing times, many traditional and influential groups believe that the meaning of the Quran cannot be taken beyond its direct translation. Another relevant issue that arises but which is probably relevant to all religious scriptures is how to maintain unity in the various translations in different languages of the Quran.
