The living conditions of slaves were harsh and as a result, the increase of their numbers resulted in riots. Nat Turner, a slave cum preacher, led a famous mutiny in 1831 that resulted in the death of around sixty whites. The participation of black soldiers in the revolutionary war in America had a tremendous effect on the way blacks were treated.
Some legislators adopted laws that would end slavery. They (legislators) appreciated the contributions of the blacks in the freedom of the country. This shows that Europeans are the people who supported slavery. Although US is made up of whites they did not see the need of keeping blacks and Indians in fathomable living conditions while forcing them to work without pay. The end of colonization played a key role in ending slavery
