Sample Essay

Nanticoke tribe is most sharply different from the Cheyenne Indians and the Navajo tribe. The Cheyenne tribe had an extremely nomadic culture while the Navejo tribe has a semi-nomadic culture. This is in sharp contrast to the Nanticoke tribe which was relatively much less nomadic and therefore invested more in the area in which they were staying. This is reflected in the kind of structures they made for living, they were less portable (unlike those of the Cheyenne Indians) and also they had more elaborate structures as meeting places for the clans.

Navajo tribe has been extremely flexible and open towards new ideas and beliefs. One of the main factors that contributed to this was that the oil and uranium on their reserves left them no opportunity but to reevaluate their form of government and mold it in something more suitable to benefit from this opportunity. This trend has again shown itself in relatively recent times when Navajo tribes benefit from businesses such as casinos. This element may have something to do with the philosophy in general of the Navajo tribe, which shows it self in their religious philosophy. Even the afterworld in Navajo religion is one of continuous change and restlessness.
