A coup organized by Duong Van Minh saw the death of Diem. This death of Diem proved that no one could take control of the affairs of the government of South Vietnam. They had the complete control of the situation and liked the way that things were going. Because of this, there was an agreement that was reached between the two parties.
They then proceeded to signing a treaty. This treaty was between the US and South Vietnam. The treaty immediately showed results. This new agreement saw the increase of US soldiers, in Vietnam. The number of troops sent to the region was increased by the government in an effort to maintain stability in the region.
