The Islamic rule rose in the 7th century after the fall of the Empires like Roman and Persian. During this time, Christians under these empires had to fight to protect the church and their states against the advance of Islam Jihads with crusades.
The emergence of the Jihads and the response by crusades was the beginning of the current fight between the west and the East. The continued wars, the conquering of continents by Europe created the division between the east and west. This division in regions led to the rise of different views between the western civilization that is free and modern and the Islamic east that is seen as violent and religious.
