In a bid to transform Venezuela to a socialist state, the government nationalized six companies, which had been privatized in 2007. The six renationalized companies were brought together to form the Electricity Corporation of Venezuela (Corpoelec).
This organization provides the entire electricity that is used in Venezuela.
