Keeble (2008) defines communication as “the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs”. This objective gave me an insight on how customs affect our morals and perception some even leading to all forms of discrimination- racial, gender, religion, political, inter alia.
It is however in my interest that this objective provoked my mind to look at culture and ethical communication in a business setting, a field I aspire to fall into.
The culture of any organization is laid on its mission, and any action in the firm is geared towards attaining such objectives. Furthermore, their mission has to rhyme with the culture of its customers.
How successful such an organization will be, is a matter of its culture and how well the culture is passed to its employees. I learnt that while setting up my own initiative, I really need to lay emphasis on the cultural settings around which to operate.
