Discrimination is a very sensitive topic for most communities in the world, however in the past few years due to the changing political climate and the dynamics of the region, the UK population has been facing an increasing amount of discrimination. The reason for the increase in reported cases of discrimination is also based on the War on Terrorism that is currently active in the world and how people in UK belong to certain religions and communities are being discriminated against.
In order to resolve the apparent discriminate issues the UK government has implemented the Anti-Discrimination Legislation which aim at paving the way for a harmonious society. To suppose that legislation by itself can end discrimination at work is a triumph of hope over experience. The reality is that there are limits to the extent to which legislation as such can alter the social structures underpinning features of working life. This paper has a result critically assess the limits and effectiveness of anti-discrimination law.
